PURSUING YOUR DREAMS: SAYING "YES" TO YOUR "NO" - 3rd January 2025
When was the last time you came to this place where you know you need to say “Yes” to your dreams but yet you are struggling with your internal “No” due to fears? Deep in, you know very well that this “Yes” will bring acceleration and promotion to your life. Life is about making decisions and choices. A decision made today may affect your life forever. Saying “Yes” is the start to greater things ahead even when you do not know know how to get there. Don’t let your fears stop you from saying “Yes”. It is easy to be overwhelmed by things that is happening and coupled with your left brain at work, it causes hinderance to chase after your dreams. Your dreams may be far fetch but dreams without action is a fantasy.
Whatever described is not rocket science but it is something that many have faced. Staying in comfort zone is always safer and takes lesser effort. Stepping out of comfort zone is not easy but is important because staying in comfort zone causes your dreams to be dormant, subsequently dead and buried. We only live life once and when it is time to transit to the “far far away land”, what is the legacy you left behind for your family and friends? What do you want to be remembered for?
Start by taking small little steps. It equates to a big difference in time to come. Even when you do not know where you are heading to, just do something and keep moving. Procrastinating and waiting is not going to bring you there. You don’t need to take 365 days to think of one possible small little step and another 365 days to evaluate if you want to take that one little step. That is only an excuse given to yourself for standing at the same spot. Soon years will passed while you are still at that original spot. This is when fear will cripple you even more. Clarity will come as long as you keep seeking and moving.
Nobody ever get to be at the summit of the mountain without attempting to hike up the mountain. The journey may not be easy and it takes lots of practices, effort, perseverance, detours and even rest along the way. However, the moment you reaches the summit, see the spectacular view, it causes you to be ecstatic and all the things you have done will become meaningful. Victories without effort are less cherished and least likely to sustain longevity since you will not be prepared or have the perseverance to hold onto the fort when met with the odds.
Be faithful to your dreams. It is impossible for the faithful not to be promoted in life. If you have taken time to plant your garden you will surely see life sprouting out from it one day. Different fruits may require different harvest time. As long as you continue to take care of what you grow, fruits will grow. Likewise somethings cannot be rushed. You just need to enjoy that process while waiting for fruits to grow.
Do not let unbelief or fear cripple you and hold you back from your dreams. You are what you believe and you attract what you believe. If you are bold enough to meditate on the possibilities, possibilities will come chasing after you. If you meditate on the impossibilities and fear, these will soon overwhelmed you. Indeed not all dreams will come to past after trying, but it is better to try and fail then to be living in regrets of not pursuing your dreams in time to come. Who knows your dreams are just around that corner and you have missed it because you are too afraid to walk a little further.
How you view failures defines how you take failures. Failures could be pit stop for you to rest. Rest to recharge, to reconsolidate your thoughts and to re-evaluate your strategies so that you can make a bigger comeback. While hiking the mountain, it is needed to take pit stops to have rest. When met with danger, you could even take a detour and choose another path. It is better to make a detour than to loose your life.
Failures works character and allows you to emerge stronger. Do not stop trying! Failures does not define you and one failure does not mean that it is the end of the world or you are not good enough. It is a stepping stone to grow in wisdom, statue and maturity. So "bounced back up" and stay focused.
Take the step of boldness and courage, take action and pursue your dreams. Your little “Yes”, your little steps, your faithfulness will bring you somewhere one day. What is the decision you take today?
